The candidates for Treasurer are:
Greetings! A bit about myself—I am a Business Intelligence analyst at Albany Medical Center and a Northeastern University graduate student nearing completion of an MS in Health Informatics. As a Business Intelligence analyst, my work primarily involves collecting and assessing patient and financial data. I then build reports and dashboards to assist clinical and administrative staff in the areas of productivity and effectiveness in providing care.
The HIMSS New York State Chapter events introduced me to the latest technologies and policies in health care. By getting involved with Chapter events, I gained a sense of appreciation for the folks who have pioneered health information technology. I can personally attest to the value of staying connected and involved with the Chapter.
By serving as the Treasurer, I hope to give back and help ensure that others will also have fulfilling experiences through the Chapter. With my previous experiences as treasurer for non-profit groups, I am confident that with some training from the outgoing Treasurer I could quickly learn how to best contribute. I am looking forward to hopefully serving you and the HIMSS NYS Chapter as the next Treasurer!

Strategic Account Manager for Health Care & Education at Check Point Software.
It’s been a great ride of being in the Information Technology field for the last 18 years fulfilling Customer needs. During this span I have managed various customers (Healthcare, SLED, Enterprises, and Service Providers). I have held different positions (Management, Sales, Product Management and Engineering), worked on multiple solutions (Security, Routing, and Switching) on multiple platforms (Cloud, Network and Endpoint). I have lived on both the coasts working for Check Point Software and prior to that at Cisco Systems.
In summary love what I do and look forward to continuing to fulfill Customer needs by challenging myself and others around me!
I have been working in healthcare since 1972 when I joined the United States Air Force and was trained as a Medical Laboratory Technician. This was followed by 15 years of working in the hospital environment in the laboratory. In 1987 I transitioned into Information Technology, where all my positions have been in various aspects of healthcare, Practice Management, Pharmacy Benefit Management and now Substance Abuse Treatment, where I am currently the Vice President of Information Technology for all of Phoenix House, across ten states. The combination of healthcare and technology brings together my passion for contributing positively and the challenge of constantly seeking improvement in process and solutions.
Some volunteer experience that directly contributes to this position is my desire to work with organizations that have similar passions as mine. These include working with the Boston Computer Society in the 80’s, where I managed their Software Library and Computer Lab procurement. In 90’s I worked with ICON SF, Inc. whose focus was on literacy and Science. AT ICON I was on the Board for 4 years and treasurer for 3 years. My last volunteer position was with the Long Island Association of Information Technology Professionals where as co-chair of the membership committee I helped to establish a active and popular Healthcare SIG and contributed to a 30% increase in membership. I also was on the board for 3 years.
I believe my combined industry and volunteer experience make me an excellent candidate for this position; you will need to meet me to understand the passion and enthusiasm I also will bring to the organization.
